So who saw it? Craig and I did and we really loved it. Yes, the effects were very impressive, but what I loved was that for a big special effects movie, it actually told a very intimate, personal story. A big studio effects film that really cared about story and character. Very rare these days.

My wife and I just saw this over the weekend. It was alright, but I'm not sure it lived up to the hype, at least for me. For a reason I cannot put my finger on, the characters just didn't click with me. Maybe it was that they were overshadowed by the special effects a bit, or that much of their characterization came in the form of them telling us about themselves. Part of me feels like this would have been much better as a novel wince the suspense could have played out at a different pace. Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it. There were some cool ideas in there at least. I'd give it a solid B.
